Our last day on the ship was spent watching for whales (we saw quite a few) and enjoying the gorgeous scenery through the Inside Passage.
We had to pack up our clothes and say goodbye to our new friends on the ship, which was sad. Svetlana, our sommelier, was so sweet. We'd met her on the Summit last fall and she remembered us. Her recommendations for wine were spot on.
Our room steward, i Made (from Bali), was so efficient and intuitive. He kept our cabin spotless. He folded the clothes we'd leave laying on the couch, and even brought me a vase of flowers! They lasted all week. Our last night we came back from dinner and found this on our bed (see picture below). How sweet is that?! Of course there were chocolates on our pillows every night and fresh towels both morning and night. While other cruise lines are cutting back on their service Celebrity is definitely keeping their high reputation for "treating you like a Celebrity."
Below is a picture of our last sunset at sea. Both the land and sea portions of our trip to Alaska were better than I'd hoped. I'm sure all the planning paid off, which was confirmed by my lack of planning for our final day in Vancouver (after the cruise). I'll tell you about it in the next post.
